Login Locations & Fallback Regions

Your bot needs to know where to log in, and where to go if its home region ever restarts. The Teleport Options panel on your MoonBots dashboard lets you control both of these settings in one place.

Accessing Teleport Options

You can find Teleport Options in the Management section of your bot's dashboard page.

  1. Log in to your MoonBots dashboard and select the bot you want to manage.
  2. In the Management column, click Teleport Options.
  3. A window will pop up with two tabs: Login Location and Fallback Regions.

Setting a Login Location

The Login Location tab controls where your bot appears when it logs in. You have three options to choose from:

  1. Last Location: Your bot logs back into whichever region it was in before it last logged out.
  2. Home Location: Your bot logs into its Second Life home location, the same one set in the viewer's Home settings.
  3. Custom SLURL: Your bot logs into a specific location that you type in as a SLURL.

To set a login location:

  1. Open Teleport Options and stay on the Login Location tab.
  2. Choose Last Location, Home Location, or select the radio button next to the SLURL field and type in your preferred location.
  3. Click Set Login to save your choice.

Tip

If you plan on moving your bot to a new home often, a custom SLURL is the most reliable option since it will not change if your bot's last location or home changes unexpectedly.

Sending Your Bot to a Location Right Now

Underneath your login location settings, you will find the Send to Location section. This lets you teleport your bot to a specific place immediately, without changing its saved login location.

  1. Open Teleport Options and stay on the Login Location tab.
  2. Enter a SLURL in the Send to SLURL field.
  3. Click Send Here. Your bot will teleport to that location right away.

Setting Fallback Regions

Fallback regions act as a safety net for your bot. If the region your bot is in restarts, your bot will temporarily teleport to one of your saved fallback regions to stay online. After 15 minutes, it will try to return to its original location on its own.

  1. Open Teleport Options and click the Fallback Regions tab.
  2. Enter a SLURL for a region you would like your bot to use as a backup.
  3. Click + Add Region to add additional fallback locations. You can add more than one.
  4. Click Save Fallback Regions to save your list.

Tip

Add more than one fallback region if you can. If your first fallback region happens to be restarting too, your bot can try the next one on your list.

Remove a Fallback Region

Click the red X next to any saved region to remove it from your list, then click Save Fallback Regions to confirm the change.
