Setting Up Your LullaBeebs Baby Avatar

A step-by-step guide for setting up a Lullabeebs baby avatar

Welcome! This guide walks you through building a LullaBeebs infant avatar from scratch, from shopping to the finishing touches. There's a bit of prep involved before you start putting things on, so read through the shopping section first!

Part 1: What You Need to Buy

A LullaBeebs baby is made up of several pieces from different stores. Here's a breakdown of what to grab and where to look.

From the LullaBeebs Store

Head to the Lullabeebs store located on the Bad Seed region in Second Life

You'll need to purchase:

  1. LullaBeebs Infant Body
  2. LullaBeebs Infant Head - there are a few head styles to choose from, so pick the one you like best! 💡 Tip: Grab the demos first and try them on before you buy so you know you love the shape.

💡 Tip: The body and head are sold separately, so make sure you grab both.

Skin: Sold Separately

Skins for LullaBeebs babies are made by third-party creators. There are tons of options out there! Before you buy, grab demos from the stores you're eyeing - most creators offer them for free or for a small fee. Try them on your baby first so you can see the tone and texture before committing

Here are a few stores to check out:

  1. Pity Party
  2. Toddlees
  3. CHYLDREN
  4. Flying Bunny Store

📝 Note: Make sure the skin you buy is made specifically for LullaBeebs. It should say so in the listing. Remember to always DEMO when possible before making a purchase!

Hair: Sold Separately

Baby hair is also from third-party stores. Look for hair that is labeled for LullaBeebs or unrigged mesh hair.

A few places to browse:

  1. Fluffies
  2. Baby Haven

Eyebrows: Sold Separately

Eyebrows are their own tattoo layers and come from third-party creators. Some skin stores include brows in the package, so check before buying separately!

Places to look:

  1. Dudadreams
  2. Pity Party

Add-Ons: Sold Separately

Add-ons are little extras like lashes, skin details, veins, and under-eye creases. These come from third-party stores, too.

Some favorites:

  1. Dudadreams
  2. Pity Party

📝 Note: Make sure the hair/brows/add ons you buy is made specifically for LullaBeebs. It should say so in the listing. Remember to always DEMO when possible before making a purchase!

Part 2: Unpacking Your Purchases

When you buy something in Second Life, it lands in your Objects folder as a box or package. It's not ready to wear yet! You'll need to unpack everything before you can use it.

  1. Open your inventory and go to your Objects folder.
  2. Find the item you just purchased. It'll usually have the store name or product name on it.
  3. Rez the box on the ground (right-click > Rez) somewhere you have build rights, like a sandbox.
  4. Right-click the box and choose Open.
  5. Click Copy to Inventory to move the contents into your inventory.
  6. Once it's copied over, you can delete the box from the ground.

💡 Tip: Do this for every item you purchase before moving on: body, head, skin, hair, eyebrows, and add-ons all need to be unpacked first.

Part 3: Putting It All Together

Okay, everything's unpacked and in your inventory! Let's build this baby. Work through these steps for the best results.

Step 1: Put On the Body & Head

These are the foundation of your avatar. Start here before anything else.

  1. In your inventory, find your LullaBeebs Infant Body.
  2. Right-click it and choose Add (not Wear - Add keeps your other layers on!).
  3. Find your LullaBeebs Infant Head and right-click > Add.
  4. Find the shape that came with your head and right-click > Wear.

💡 Tip: Always use Add for mesh body parts, not Wear. Wear can accidentally replace pieces you already have on.

Step 2: Apply the Skin

  1. Find the skin you purchased in your inventory.
  2. Right-click it and choose Wear
  3. Click the HUD to apply the skin to your body and head.
  4. Detach the HUD when you're done.

📝 Note: Some skins have a separate tattoo layer for the head and body. Apply both if that's the case!

Step 3: Add the Eyes

  1. Find your eyes in your inventory.
  2. Right-click and choose Add.

Step 4: Put On the Hair

  1. Find your hair in your inventory.
  2. Right-click and choose Add.

💡 Tip: Hair should always be Added, not Worn, so it layers on top of the head correctly.

Step 5: Apply Eyebrows

  1. Find your eyebrow in your inventory.
  2. Right-click it and choose Wear

Step 6: Add-Ons (Optional but Cute!)

Add-ons like lashes, skin details, veins, and under-eye creases go on last. Some are appliers (HUD-based) and some are attachments: check the instructions that came with them.

  1. Apply each add-on one at a time using Add or via HUD applier.
  2. Detach any HUDs when you're done.

💡 Tip: Apply each one with Add, not Wear, so they layer on top of your skin without replacing anything.
