Fixing Bot Login Issues - Incorrect Password

If your bot isn't coming online, the most common issue is an incorrect Second Life password.

Why Your Bot Can't Log In

When you add a bot to MoonBots, we need the exact Second Life password for that avatar to log them in. If the password is wrong, your bot will stay offline.

Common password mistakes:

Typing the password incorrectly when setting up

Using YOUR password instead of the BOT's password

The bot's SL password was recently changed

Extra spaces before or after the password

Copying/pasting with hidden characters

How to Fix the Password

Follow these simple steps to update your bot's login credentials:

Log Into MoonBots

Go to Moonbots.co and sign in with your account.

Find Your Bot

Locate the bot that isn't coming online in your bot list.

Click Manage Bot

Click the "Manage Bot" button next to the offline bot.

Update Login Information

  1. Click on "Login Information" or "Update Login Credentials"
  2. Enter the bot's exact Second Life password
  3. Click Update Information

Wait and Verify

  1. Your bot should attempt to log in within 2-5 minutes
  2. Check your bot list to see if they're now showing as "Online"
  3. If still offline after 10 minutes, try the troubleshooting steps below

Important Password Tips

✅ DO:

  1. Use the bot avatar's Second Life password (not yours!)
  2. Copy and paste carefully from a password manager
  3. Double-check for typos before saving
  4. Make sure there are no extra spaces
  5. Use the current, active password

❌ DON'T:

  1. Use your main account's password
  2. Include quotation marks around the password
  3. Add extra spaces before or after
  4. Use an old/expired password
  5. Share passwords in public chat

Still Not Working?

If you've updated the password correctly and your bot still won't come online, try these steps:

Verify the Password in Second Life

Log into Second Life directly with the bot's credentials to confirm:

  1. The username is spelled exactly right
  2. The password works
  3. The account isn't suspended or locked

Check for Typos

Common mistakes:

  1. Confusing 0 (zero) with O (letter O)
  2. Confusing 1 (one) with l (lowercase L) or I (capital i)
  3. Missing special characters like !, @, #

Reset the Bot's SL Password

If you're not sure of the bot's password:

  1. Go to the Second Life website
  2. Use "Forgot Password" for the bot's account
  3. Reset to a new password you know
  4. Update the password in MoonBots

Clear and Re-enter

Sometimes it helps to:

  1. Delete the current password field completely
  2. Carefully type (don't paste) the password
  3. Save and wait
